I’m going to keep this devblog short and sweet this week. I’ve been working on some new stuff that I don’t want to talk too much about until it’s all implemented properly. I almost got it finished, so it should all be on the devbranch next week.
This week we flicked the switch, fixed voice chat, improved the UI and made animals bite you.
If you launch Rust via a shortcut you’re probably going to be pretty confused next time you launch it because you will find yourself in Experimental. If you want to play the previous version that hasn’t been updated for 6 months (now known as ‘legacy’) you can do so by launching via Steam..
If you’re resistant to change and don’t want any part of the new version you can switch to the legacy branch. This way your shortcut should start working again.
You can read more about how we’re developing Rust here. If you’re an experimental newb you’re in luck – Rustafied has put up a bunch of pretty good guides to help you adapt.
We’ve ported the game over to Unity 5.
Crafting, Cursors, Clothes and Caves
That’s right – we haven’t actually cancelled Rust.
Some fun stuff this week!
We got a lot done this week.
Has it been a week already? Man, this week has really flown! Here’s what’s kept us busy.
Lots of little things got done in the experimental build this week. And some big things. Here’s what’s up.
