Caretaker fan art, Rust-inspired music, raving, and more.

Welcome

I’m not sure there’s been a more enduring piece of concept art than Paul’s Caretakers: mysterious robots, wandering the land, hopefully not glitching into rocks and bases. It’s a compelling idea that’s appeared many times in art, videos, and–I’m just guessing here–toilet graffiti.

With that preamble out the way, I have two further pieces of Caretaker fan work to show you. The header is from Fred the Dog’s video, largely made to show off his Rust Steelborn skin collection. I can always get behind someone being OTT just to show off their work.

X-SEIDE-T joined in on the robotic excitement, and imagined the robots as a base wrecking components repository.

No-one ever talks about the Caretakers being nice. Caretaker is a lovely word!

Fanmade Rust OST

Noise is noise. But sometimes noise is better noise, and it makes you feel things or move body parts or hum. That noise is called ‘music’, and we have it in Rust. But we could have more, or different music in there, and that’s what Trench_Music dropped onto reddit. They’ve made some alternative tunes and would absolutely love it if you listened to them, possibly while playing Rust.

I liked the one that went all hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm-plink-sqaaaaaaaaaaa.

Razzie’s Legendary Hotel

JordanRants went on a tour of Razzie’s Legendary Hotel and ended up moving in. This seems like a really cool and quick way to build a friendly community, though it’s seems like a stressful job to be in charge of this place. A lot of towels would go missing.

I love seeing utilitarian buildings in Rust. This place could really benefit from guest codes.

Art

Once again, I have decided what is and isn’t considered ‘art’. Arrogant, I know, but if someone didn’t do it we’d end up with sliced sharks and diamond skulls all over the place. Instead we have JohnX18x’s “Rust Souls” on the left, and BRULLAN!’s little slice of Rust on the right.

That was the art.

Rust: Survival Of The Fittest

A short while ago, we were told of Rustralasia‘s Survival of the Fittest event. It’s the sort of fight Vertiigo can’t keep away from. Would you like to see how he did?

9th is nine times better than 1st, Vert.

Xtab’s Skin Round-Up

Once again, Gerald Xtab has tied a rope around his waist and leapt off the bridge into the churning water of the Rust Workshop. When yanked out, he told us of what he found down there, laying it out neatly for you all to discover some top-notch skins.

That panda is amazing.

And Finally…

Highmoose set-up a rave in Rust.

That would get raided so hard on a normal server.

Get In Touch

Think you’re working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Share your base designs, show off a game-mode from your server, or have you done a cool thing with Code Locks and Vending Machines?

There’s a dedicated forum post, or you can fish for upvotes in the Subreddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I’m on there as well.

I can’t respond to everything, but I read every comment and take it all in.
